Dallen Peterson, the founder of Merry Maids, recently
wrote in Rags, Riches and Real Success the following
statements:
"Carpe diem became a catch phrase. Seize today!
College kids would toast one another with it in university
pubs, meaning, "Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow
we die." For others the phrase meant belligerent,
winner-take-all stratagy for living, a call to seize
assets wherever one could. For still others it meant
take it easy one day at a time, the don't-worry-be-happy
approach to life."
"As I thought about the principles of success,
the phrase has come to mind. But real success, in both
the business world and one's personal affairs, isn't
about seizing today - carpe deim. Today is too late.
Success comes when we seize tomorrow."
